Raven Guard vs Imperial Fists [1500pts]

The tactical squad advances towards objective five on the firebase claiming the objective with the librarian moving up behind them. The callidus appears out of the mists near the chaplain (warlord). The tactical squad emboldened by the appearance of the imperial agent move towards the enemy warlord. The Librarian fails to cast scourge, but then smites the vanguard veterans killing them off. The tactical squad by the enemy warlord split their fire, the lascannon fires at the stormtalon and the bolters fire into the enemy warlord. The bolters wounded the chaplain but the lascannon failed to wound the stormtalon. The techmarine manning the thunderfire cannon fires his plasma cutter at the stormtalon taking its final wound. This then freed up the whirlwind and thunderfire cannon to shoot at the 5-man tactical squad by the landing pad, the artillery shells destroying the squad. This lead to no enemy units within 12" of the centre enabling a D3 victory points,a two was rolled. This leaves the Blood Angels trailing by 2. The Blood Angels predator targetted and destroyed the Imperial Fist predator. The Imperial Agent, charging in to the enemy warlord swung her phase sword in vicious arcs cutting through the armour of the chaplain, killing the warlord scoring and another two victory points.

Using the alternative deployment rules the Imperial Fists win the roll off
Imperial Fists
Objectives: Claim Objective 6, Capture Objective 6, Mission Critical - Claim 5
The 5-man tactical squad nearest objective 6 advances claiming the objective securing two victory points. On the other side of the battle field the 10-man tactical squad climbs the walls gaining a line of sight to the scouts in the middle of the battle ground. The Fire Raptor flies over the scouts towards the Raven Guard deployment zone gaining a bead to the dune crawler skulking half behind a wall while the captain deepstrikes underneath the raptor ensuring it gains his aura ability. The Vanguard Veterans, also arriving by deepstrike, land on the firebase claiming objective 5. In the shooting phase the scouts come under fire from the nearby tactical squads losing two of their number. The predator and sicaran aim at the storm raven dropping it down to 8 wounds. The fire raptor aiming all of its weapons at the dune crawler armed with its anti-air weaponry claiming first blood.

Raven Guard
Objectives: Area Denial, Master the Warp, Capture 6
On both flanks the tactical squads advance towards objectives 1 and 6 while keeping their lascannon stationary. The librarian advances behind the tacticals nearest objective 6. The stormraven flies over objective 6. Reaching into the warp the librarian casts Scourging and Smite on the 5-man squad holding objective 6 killing them off leaving the objective held by the flyer. All of the rest of the army shoots at the fire raptor dropping it down to 1-wound.

Turn 2
Start of turn two things appear to be well balanced, the Imperial Fists have the early advantage of claiming all of their objectives in turn 1 and first blood to take the lead.
Imperial Fists
Objectives: Capture objective 1, Capture Objective 3, Overwhelming Fire
The Vanguard Veterans head off towards Objective 3 currently being held by the scouts on the landing pad, being joined by the remaining 5-man tactical squad moving up towards the same objective. The Chaplain deepstrikes on objective 1 claiming it. The Predator and Sicaran combine their fire to bring down the Stormraven and achieved overwhelming fire. The 10-man tactical squad on the ruins shoot at the enemy tactical squad in-front of the Chaplain thinning their number with Chaplain failing to do add to the damage. The heavily wounded Fire Raptor shoots at the tactical marines, the thunderfire cannon but fails to cause any damage. The Vanguard Veterans charged the scouts on the firebase killing all but three scouts without taking any damage themselves. The Captain charged the predator however owing to some lucky over watch the captain was slain before it could get into close combat.

Starting the turn 5 points down it isn't looking terribly great.
